You here the story sometimes how developers and County work crews plow over and cover up old cemeteries in the way. Stuff like that makes me mad but it doesnt really hit home. But today I received this email from a distant cousin (a decedent of Charles Wood):
I drove down Boone Road the other day, taking an alternate route home, and noticed that a few trees were being cut near the Wood Family cemetery. The cemetery is back behind a house and not really visible from the road.

What are the different types of church Records?
Baptism and Christening Records
Baptism or christening records almost always list at least the name of the person baptized, the date and place of birth, and the date and place of the baptism. For infant baptisms, the pastor usually recorded the parents’ names and often their place of residence, particularly if the pastor was serving a circuit rather than a single parish. Quite often, the register lists the date of birth or at least the age of the person being baptized. In addition, many baptismal records list the names of sponsors or godparents, who are often close relatives of the parents.
As you well know my big genealogy brick wall was with my Henry Nichols (Family Page and PDF Lineage). The earliest I found him was in Effingham County Georgia in the 1805 Georgia land lottery. Effingham County is not a burn county and has most of its early records. Well there is nothing on my Henry even though he lived there, met his wife and fathered 3 children there. NO RECORDS! he did not purchase land, did not pay tax, did not get married there. The only way I can place him there was from 2 Georgia land lotteries from 1805 and 1807 and from the Georgia Passport he was granted to move through Indian land on his way to Mississippi in 1810.
